Also Ben was recently on Byron’s show to talk recent news.
Today I joined Byron Doss from ByronDoss.com on his show to talk the announcements from WWDC. You can watch the video below. Byron is also releasing this as an audio podcast and we’ll post the link to that when it’s up.

Just kidding! I wrote a review of the iHome iPLWBT5 at a new site called ByronDoss.com and hope to be doing some more reviews there soon. The site is followed by a lot of the old Geek Beat fans from before the split. Its definitely the beginning here and I’m hoping for good things in the future. Also, this iHome is a really good option if you want something that will charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch and it has some really good sound for such a little thing.
What this means for The Tech Hangout? Nothing. I will continue to write editorial content here. But definitely give Byron’s site a look. He has some great giveaways from time to time for those in his community.
Its been a rollercoaster of a year for me. It started out on a high note and kind of went downhill from there. As you know I used to be associated with a well known technology news show and a couple months ago that association went away. Working remotely the last couple years gave me a lot of freedom and I really enjoyed it at times. I tried to find another remote position, but I ultimately failed. A couple weeks back, I decided to take a more traditional day job.
This will mean I will have set hours I’m to work outside of my home. This will also mean that I can no longer promise a set schedule for our TTH 2.0 Live Show. Quite frankly, as much as I’d like to, I need to make money to live and that has to come first. It’s also a job that takes me back to my roots a little bit. This is not ideal and I would have preferred to do this a different way, but it is what it is. That said, I made the best decision I could and I hope you’ll continue to support the Tech Hangout. I’ll try to have the show’s weekly time out as far in advance as I can, but it could be later than 5pm est and it could be earlier. It could also move around a bit.
However, we’re not going anywhere. Technology is our passion. I could also use some help around here, especially with the run sheet.
Its time for the next evolution of the Tech Hangout. As you all know, I’ve been doing some original content on My personal Blog BenRoethig.com. Starting today, I will also be putting Tech News, Reviews, and Editorials up on TheTechHangout.com.
Since this is a fan-based site, you can contribute too. There’s absolutely no pay check involved since we’re not a business and we don’t runs ads. Hell, we don’t even pay ourselves. You can have the opportunity to be a published tech writer or reviewer… even if nobody reads it.
If you would like to contribute, let us know.
As we’ve said many times on the Tech Hangout and Tech Hangout 2.0, Patrice and I have another show called Deconstruct also featuring Jerry who you haven’t met on the hangout. If you’re looking for an uplifting and family friendly show, Deconstruct isn’t it. Deconstruct is an audio-only not safe for work tech satire that calls out articles for bad practices and inaccurate information. If you want to check it out, you can go to Deconstruct.TV or click on the click ling in the Deconstruct Menu. You can also support our sister show throw its Patreon Page.

TH2.0 #3 didn’t go as planned to say the least. I had some major router trouble which lead to ISP trouble. I’m going to try to get the show edited as a single video and get the show noted. Thanks to Patrice is stepping up when I went down.
We’ve taken this week off to retool for the launch of the new show format next week. We did this for a couple reasons. First, Its very apparent that my ISP wasn’t going to cut it anymore. I’ll have my new ISP next week with much better bandwidth. I also wanted to discuss the Apple watch in the more formal setting of the new show. We’ll see you next week on the new and better Tech Hangout
We’re making some changes around here to make an all new and hopefully better Tech Hangout. Before we take the show to the new Tech Hangout 2.0 format, we’re upgrading the site to a new responsive design. I’m not much of a web designer so things may be changing. So tell us what you think.
Also, we’re looking for a new logo for the updated show. If anyone wants to make one, we’ll be very happy to take it. Until then, we’ll see you soon.
